Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided, and the Israelites went through the sea on dry ground, with a wall of water on their right and on their left. - Exodus 14.26

In 1446 BC Moses and the Israelites fled from Eygpt. During this journey to the Promised Land, they found themselves trapped between a charging enemy and the Red Sea. A supernatural act was needed in order to deliver God's people from destruction. In a beautiful display of power, God created an awesome wind that seperated the Red Sea. He led them safely onto a pathway of hope and instilled new life into the hearts of His people. It was the beginning of a journey.

Today we believe that God is moving powerfully through a "new" Red Sea. God's supernatural power will not be moving water this time, but the hearts of men, women, and children to salvation. The story of seperation and reconciliation will be named Red Sea again, but this time "the body" will be in the form of a church. We must live and share the story of reconciliation to the Father through the blood of Christ. Our neighbors are facing destruction at the hand of the enemy. Now is the time for God to use His people as a vesel of freedom among the oppressed slaves of Portland.
